The girls varsity competitive cheer team finished up league play Wednesday night when they hosted the I-8 competitive cheer championships. The panthers placed 2nd this year after winning back to back titles the last 2 years in the league. They had strong performances in each round but it wasn’t enough to defeat Hastings. Their league record finishes at 12-3 and their overall record moves to 30-6 on the season.
Team members earning All-Conference honors are Makayla Woolman, Tori Young, Jaidyn Pike, Delainee Etheridge, and Madison Bommersbach (honorable mention).
The JV and Middle School competitive cheer teams finished their season last night with strong performances in each round. The middle school team placed 3rd and the JV team placed 1st with a score of 540; outscoring even some Varsity teams!
The girls travel to Portage Northern on Friday to compete at 6:45 pm. After that, they will take next week to prepare for their District 13 competition at Otsego on Saturday, March 20 at 10:00am where they hope to qualify for Regionals for the 4th year in a row.
